Healthcare Interactive Announces 2015 Year in Review Summary

Healthcare Interactive Announces 2015 Year in Review Summary

Significant contract wins, enhanced services, and an acquisition are among achievements cited for the successful year.

Glenwood, MD (January 29, 2016) — Healthcare Interactive (HCIactive), a leading healthcare technology and services company, today released its year-end review of 2015. The company is pleased to announce that once again it has experienced substantial growth that doubles its revenue run rate (effective January 2016), which can be attributed in part to a 25% increase in lives served through its health plan services. HCIactive has also benefited by adding new channel partners, expanding its service capabilities, and acquiring a corporate wellness company.

“It continues to be proven that our mission and execution is on the right path,” said HCIactive CEO Henry Cha. “Our employer clients and our channel partners are benefiting from our vision and delivery as we continue to drive a new market in Advanced Health Planning. Our future is bright and we are accelerating.”

HCIactive’s noteworthy achievements for 2015 include:

Executed network contracts with Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC), MedStar Health, and Mission Health to offer Habeo – new-era health plans supported by patient-centered medical homes (PCMH). Habeo plans combine the processing power of HCIactive with the delivery capability of health systems, provider networks and third party administrators (TPAs) to provide employers and their employees with concierge-style health services.

Continued growth in the corporate wellness sector through direct and channel sales. Significant contract wins include: Mitas Tires, NACCO Materials Handling Group, Benefit Plan Administrators, and Precise Benefits.  New contracts with employers include: Belt Enterprises, Alvarado Real Estate Group, Regency Lighting, San Jose School District, Martin Distributing Company, Providence Group, Integrity Mutual Insurance Company, United Refrigerator, Peet’s Coffee & Tea, and LaPorte Custom Metal Processing.

Acquired PopSpring Wellness, a Wisconsin-based corporate wellness company, providing services to 26 employer groups, representing nearly 16,000 members.  Through this acquisition, HCIactive also enhanced its relationship with Aspirus, a community-directed health system.

Expanded service offerings to channel partners, including ACA Reporting and the following technology enhancements:

  • Gamification features added to the member portal to increase engagement and education through peer competition
  • Client portal and dashboard providing real-time access to program performance reports
  • Mobile app providing members with on-the-go access to their health information
  • Ability to sync with more than 150 types of mobile devices through the member portal.

In summary, HCIactive made excellent progress throughout 2015 and is well-positioned to continue this successful track record. The company plans more announcements for its 2016 objectives next week following its annual company meeting. These announcements are expected to include additions to the leadership team and initiatives aimed at increasing momentum.

Healthcare Interactive Announces Reseller Agreement with Benefit Plan Administrators to Provide ACA Reporting Solutions

Healthcare Interactive Announces Reseller Agreement with Benefit Plan Administrators to Provide ACA Reporting Solutions

New services offer relief to employers challenged by ACA reporting compliance.

Glenwood, MD (January 5, 2016) — Healthcare Interactive (HCIactive), a leading healthcare technology company, announced today that it has signed a reselling partnership agreement with Benefit Plan Administrators (BPA), a full-service healthcare benefits administrator based in Eau Claire, WI.

Under the partnership, BPA is now offering an ACA reporting dashboard with online enrollment technology to help employers better comply with ACA reporting requirements.

According to ACA requirements, providers of minimum essential coverage, as well as Applicable Large Employers (ALEs) having 50 or more Full-Time Employees or Equivalents (FTEs), must file reporting forms by March 31st on paper or June 30th electronically, or face significant penalties. “We recognize that compliance can be overwhelming, and that’s why we’re addressing it with technology that simplifies this process. Our ACA reporting dashboard aggregates payroll, benefits and HR data specifically for tracking and reporting purposes, and even auto-populates the necessary IRS forms for employers,” says HCIactive CEO Henry Cha.

The need for these solutions are apparent, as the government has extended the filing deadlines twice to accommodate employer requests for more clarification and more time. “Hearing our client’s challenges with ACA compliance first-hand, it’s gratifying to be able to offer a solution that actually works. We’re excited about our partnership with HCIactive and the value it will offer the employer groups we serve,” says BPA President Marc Paulson.

With the added time granted by the latest ACA reporting extensions, HCIactive will continue to focus on onboarding new reseller partners, thereby helping employers nationwide avoid penalties due to noncompliance.

HCIactive Launches Direct Contracted Health Plans Featuring MedStar’s Primary Care Network

HCIactive Launches Direct Contracted Health Plans Featuring MedStar’s Primary Care Network

Maryland and Washington, D.C. Metro companies bypass traditional health insurance carriers to access providers for employer sponsored health plans.

Healthcare Interactive, Inc. (HCIactive), a health benefits technology firm, has just launched a new level-funded health plan featuring MedStar Health System’s primary care physician (PCP) network.

With reports that major local insurers (Radnofsky, Louise. “Health Insurers Seek Hefty Rate Boosts.” WSJ. Dow Jones and Company, 21 May 2015. Web. 11 Nov. 2015.) are requesting rate increases on average of 36% this year, employers are looking for lower cost, high quality alternatives for their 2016 employee health plans. HCIactive’s announcement means that businesses in Washington D.C., Baltimore and other Maryland counties finally have another private sector health plan solution that offers high quality, freedom of choice, and lower costs.

Habeo health plans, offered by HCIactive, gives employers level-funded options that have a lower monthly cost, offers comprehensive primary care with integrated wellness – plus full access to specialists and hospitals.  These plans replace traditional employee health benefits (fully-insured or self-funded) from large insurance carriers with plans that have direct contracts with health systems and their providers.

For example, a business based in the Baltimore or D.C. metro area is likely to have health plan members that already use MedStar’s physicians and facilities.  Habeo’s plans allow employers to purchase unlimited access for their employees to the MedStar primary care network for a fixed monthly fee, including traditional access to a nationwide network of specialists, hospitals, and other healthcare benefits.

The cost benefits of Habeo plans result from enabling employers to buy healthcare direct from health systems, similar to how shopping at wholesale clubs save members money by cutting out the retailer.  In addition, when the plan spends less than the quoted rate, the savings generated is shared with the business owner to further reduce the cost and increase the benefits for their employees.

MedStar’s primary care medical homes, located throughout Maryland, Washington D.C., and Northern Virginia, provide seamless access to the extraordinary resources of the region’s largest healthcare network.

“We are excited to announce our health plans featuring the MedStar PCP network – our second regional health system to offer direct contracting with a narrow network of providers under this new insurance model.” said Henry Cha, the CEO of HCIactive. “Using our technology to help build a culture of health for local businesses, backed by networks of the highest quality is invigorating.”

Habeo, which is Latin for ‘to own,’ builds a culture of health in organizations where individuals feel empowered to own their care, businesses find value in incenting employees to engage in their health, and health systems are enabled to offer direct contracts with local employers.  Finally, those needing health care, those paying for health care, and those providing health care are aligned.
